Gearing for the New Year!

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful Holiday! I've been out of commission for a few weeks due to having two surgeries this month. I am however all healed up now and am back to work making new fused glass treasures for the new year starting with getting prepared for Valentines Day!

During my healing time I have come up with some new art jewelry designs that I have started using the following supplies that you see in the sneak peak photo below! It's going to involve brass and a rich redish toned dichroic glass.

I'm also going to give a little teaser peek at a portion of the design I drew for this piece.
This is all I am going to give out for now, but as the work progresses I will post more pictures and hints here!

Sweet Holidays

With the holidays coming quickly into view who could possibly resist some delectable sugary treats? While browsing Etsy for fantastic gift ideas while my latest batch of glasswork melts I came across The Frosted Petticoat, which features some adorable candy goodness.

Thanks for reading and have a fantastic Thanksgiving!

An Artists Return

Oh goodness it has been awhile since I have updated this blog! I found myself out with some medical issues, but now I am back and feeling more motivated then ever!

During my time off I managed to complete a new design in glass I have been working for a few months now.

The swallowtail butterfly wing design is the newest member of my growing glass work portfolio. This protype piece has already been claimed by my grandmother (I mean who can say no to grandma!?) and the second one I made was snatched up at an art show I attended before I could manage to get a picture of it.

Now to figure out more colors to use for this pattern!

As always you can find my glass creations for sale here: In My Etsy Shop!

Every Journey Starts With a First Step

Hello Everyone and welcome to my very first introductory blog post!
While I get used to this whole blogging thing I would like to tell everyone a tad about me and what I do.
My name is Lindsey, a self taught self representing glass artist currently residing in central Florida with a love of things handmade. For those who do not know what a self representing artist is, it is a person who makes a living selling their work. Right now I make glass jewelry with a specialty in glass butterfly wing pendants. I also make other things including enameling and various metal works.

You can find my work for sale here in my Etsy Shops:
